After watching the video "Growin Up Online" I feel sad. Cyberbullying is always happening but there's never really a way to know unless the person being bullied opens up, which they most likely won't. The internet wants to make everyone fit in to society so some come to bring themselves to be someone there not. I think that's okay because we should be able to show our other personalities and do whatever we'd like, but I think these girls go a little overboard. Unlike these girls who make themselves fit in some people just don't feel they belong so they end their lives. They simply can't handle the pressure of being bullied, made fun of, or not even being able to fit in. It saddens me that the youth of today feel it's funny to make fun of the kids who "aren't normal" without thinking about the consequences or the effects of their actions. I wasn't really able to relate to anyone because I make sure to interact only with people I know and the people I have confidence in; therfore, I know i can talk to them without being made fun of or believing I have to "fit in."

Teachers have adopted many different teaching techniques and they use them with the help of electronic devices. The quote "Technology has far outpaced the growth of education and the methods teachers have created and adopted of using their advancements." I agree with this quote because I have seen it in my classrooms. Half of my teachers use computers or projectors to teach their lessons to us. My mom, who teaches at Everest college in downtown, has told me that every classroom in the building uses smartboards. This means that the instructors can give their lessons much easier and faster. My mom says that the role of the samrt boards is, "to make eduction fun and the lessons more interesting, the students pay more attention when they have something that is more their generation." So basically with more technology learning and teaching is easier for both students and teachers, and i would like to agree.

Now a days media is better electonically than it is on paper, the newspaper is now available online! I believe that with all these electronics the media is better.  We can know more about the news a lot quicker and we don't have to wait for the latest news, especially on sundays. Plus we don't have to wait to get home in order to know what's going on, we can know from just about anywhere. I don't believe that electronics will completely take over, I think things like homework or school materials will not be taken over. I believe this because there's been many budget cuts and schools are not able to afford electronic materials or things of that sort. I believe that electronical devices have already taken over but i'm not sure if it's possible that they will replace more materials in the future.

When it came to T.V many things were supposed to be invented by now. For example, flying cars, hover boards, robots, and holograms. To think of all these creations makes me wish they were real, I think it would be pretty cool to have hovering vehicles for transportation. I think the T.V was partially right because now we have phones and tablets with touch-screens, technology has advanced a little over time. I believe in five to ten years the internet will be accessible from anywhere and no modems will  be needed to access it. I believe that the internet will be easier to access in the next couple of years.

Apparently many people are afraid to be themselves online. People like to try on new personalities and they like to know how it would be to be someone else. I believe that anyone should be whoever they would like to be online, doesn't matter who you are. I know people would argue and ask, "What about petafiles or online predetors?" Well I would like to say that if you are on the internet on websites you know are not reliably safe then you should know all the dangers of the internet and you should be prepared to face all these problems. Also with having an online identity you should be able to express yourself however you'd like whether it's talking like yourself or making up an alternate ego. Sure making up an alternate personality is "cool" and all but it should come with some responsibility. Sure you can become someone different but we shouldn't take advantage of it. Just always remember that anything you do on the internet will never go away, there's always a way to trace it back to you.

My Online Experiences

In fourth grade I discovered youtube. Youtube was the coolest thing around when I was in fourth grade, it was the "thimg" to talk about. After a while youtube got boring and I started hearing about a new website called Myspace. This was the "tightest" thing to have. As long as you had a Myspace profile you were cool. After Myspace I heard of a similar but much "cooler" website, this one was called Facebook. Anything that's ever been the coolest, i've been on.

So all these millions of websites and all these things to surf online, how have my experiences been? I've never really had any bad experiences online, just a couple spam here or there. The internet has never really let me down, once Myspace gave me a virus but we were able to fix quickly. I appericiate the internet for the fact that I can keep in touch with all my old friends that I would've otherwise lost contact with if it wasn't for Facebook.
